Former Amenfi West Parliamentary candidate, Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa has been elected as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Western Regional Chairman.
Afrifa secured 265 votes to defeat Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, who polled 102 votes in the regional executive elections held at Agona-Nkwanta.
The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to constitute new regional executives to steer the party’s affairs ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Ignatius Aaaah Mensah was elected First Vice Chairman with 205 votes, while Francis Abeku Yankah secured 193 votes to become the Second Vice Chairman.
Kwasi Bonzoh won the Secretary position with 211 votes, with Lawrence Takyi elected Deputy Secretary after polling 157 votes.
For the Organiser position, Amoabeng Acheampong secured 181 votes, while Emmanuel Acquah Mensah was elected Communications Director with 212 votes.
Osagyefo Attiah Kwaw emerged as Youth Organiser with 197 votes, while Augustina Nketiah won the Women’s Organiser position with 193 votes.
Nana Adwoa Appiah secured a decisive victory in the Treasurer race with 262 votes, while Adam Harun Ahmed was elected Nasara Organiser with 190 votes.
The newly elected executives are expected to take charge of the party’s organisational activities in the Western Region as the NPP begins preparations towards the 2028 elections.
