The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Director of Elections, Rashid Tanko-Computer, says the party will investigate allegations of vote-buying in its ongoing internal elections if evidence is presented to the national executives.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom, Mr Tanko-Computer said the party would not tolerate practices that undermine its internal electoral processes.
“If somebody has any evidence of that and it’s brought to the notice of the national executives, why not? We’ll take notice of it,” he said.
He cited the party’s response to a previous case involving Ayawaso as evidence of its willingness to address such allegations.
Mr Tanko-Computer, however, said the party had not observed any incidents of vote-buying in areas where the elections had been conducted, describing the exercise as largely peaceful and successful.
He acknowledged challenges in some constituencies, including Odododiodioo, where counting was halted following violence before resuming after party officials intervened.
He also disclosed that elections in some constituencies in the Ashanti and Eastern regions had been postponed until the following day to allow the party to resolve outstanding issues.
