During a durbar marking the conclusion of the 150 years celebration of the Sagranti War, known as the Kuntunkuni festival, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II delivered a resolute message, declaring that any scheme aimed at destabilizing the Ashanti Kingdom would ultimately falter.

The event, held in Manhyia on Thursday, 8th February 2024, witnessed Otumfuo emphasizing the need for national unity and peace for Ghana’s growth.

Highlighting the historical journey of the Ashanti Kingdom’s integration into Ghana under the 1992 constitution, Otumfuo expressed concern over perceived hostility towards the Ashanti people and urged an end to divisive agendas.

He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to abide by the country’s legal framework while underscoring the invincibility symbolized by the Golden Stool, the soul of the Kingdom.

Referencing the resilience demonstrated during the Sagrenti War of 1874, Otumfuo emphasized the enduring strength of Asanteman, asserting that no force could diminish its spirit as long as the Golden Stool stood.

He cautioned against political machinations, urging leaders to govern with love rather than relying solely on power, as he emphasized the indispensable role of the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana’s stability and unity.
