Barely 24 hours after his passing, Mr Ibu’s step daughter, Jasmine Okafor has taken over the Nollywood actor’s TikTok account of over 1 million followers.

Jasmine Okafor has changed the name of the account to her own name, deleting all the late actor’s videos except the ones she featured in.

A check on the late actor’s Tiktok page on Sunday by 3News revealed that the account has now been renamed to @LadyJasminec_live.

3News’ check also indicate that Jasmine Okafor has still maintained her personal account with the username @ladyjasminec which has 1.3 million followers.

It is unclear the reason behind her actions. However, it is worth noting that Mr Ibu’s adopted daughter opened the account for the actor some years ago and managed it on his behalf.

John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu died at the Evercare hospital in Lagos on Saturday, March 2 at age 62 after a long illness. His manager says he suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lagos State, Nigeria.

The legendary actor has been battling health issues in October 2023, and undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg but received treatment and was discharged from hospital in early January this year. In October 2023, he came out publicly to seek financial assistance to treat his ailment.

Mr Ibu until his death was an indigene of Nkanu West Lagos of Enugu State. He is survived by wife and three children.
