Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has stated that the public’s perception of equity in the music industry is not true.

According to him, some artists will do whatever it takes, good or bad, to fulfill their dreams and reach their objectives.

“The music industry no be how the fans dey see am. It’s a bloody game now. People will do anything, pull any string for validation. Ay3 tan!!!!!” he wrote on X.

Eugene made his remarks following the completion of the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards on Saturday, June 1.

Though his exact motivation is unknown, some internet users speculate that his rival Stonebwoy’s Artiste of the Year victory may have inspired him to make the comment.

Meanwhile, Eugene won two awards at the 2024 TGMA. He won the Best Highlife Artiste and Best Music Video of the Year.

The TGMA was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 1, 2024, where musicians were awarded for their works over the past year.
