A former Ghana’s Ambassador to South Africa and a Founding Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ambassador George Ayisi Boateng, has called for total unity among the party’s executives, teeming supporters and sympathizers to recapture political power in 2028.
The party needed trust, tolerance and magnanimity to overcome challenge that is rocking the party’s unity.
“Unity is like a powerful glue that holds us together in tough times. It’s that invisible strength which helps us overcome challenges. Through unity, we can achieve things we could only dream of as individuals” he said
Speaking on Adekye3 Mu Nsem on FishTV\Radio with Aduanaba Abena Saah on the Prof Aaron Mike Oquaye’s committee report, the NPP steward said unity is key in the reorganization of the party ahead of 2028 elections
A 12-member committee chaired by the former Speaker of Parliament, Prof Oquaye, formed to investigate the party’s loss of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections submitted its findings to the National Executive Committee (NEC) at a meeting held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
In attendance were the party’s bigwigs, including the former President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Bawumia, former Running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua, among others.
The probe was aimed at identifying the cause of the party’s defeat in the elections and finding ways to discourage such things in future elections.
Dr. Ayisi Boateng stressed that the entire elephant family of needs unity and a change of attitude to move the party forward.
“Let us forgive one another, we need unity, I have forgiven anyone who offended me and wish same, in unity we are strong”
He said it should be possible to assuage hurt feelings and address individual grievances through a diplomatic way by all.
