Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has assured of government’s commitment to addressing key developmental challenges within the Komenda Traditional area.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 Nyeyi Festival on Saturday, September 13, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang noted that concerns raised over the non-operational Komenda Sugar Factory, as well as other developmental deficits, have been acknowledged and will be addressed appropriately.

Responding to the establishment of an education fund aimed at supporting the educational needs of students in the area, the Vice President commended the Komenda Traditional Council for the initiative.

She further assured that the government would invest in the fund to help secure the future of the youth through education.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also called for collective national efforts, beyond political affiliations, to drive sustainable development across the country.

In recognition of her contributions to education, especially among children in the Komenda area, the Vice President was honoured with the title Owoabrempong Kru-Kow I by the Komenda Traditional Council. She expressed heartfelt appreciation for the honour.
