The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident, his office has confirmed.

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Hashmin Mohammed, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, it was announced that the Minister has been released after receiving medical care.

Mr. Iddrisu and the Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were involved in an accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road in the early hours of Thursday, February 12.

The statement indicated that the Minister is in good spirits and has been advised to continue resting as part of his recovery. It added that he expressed appreciation to the medical team and all well-wishers for their support.

“Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged and is recovering well. We thank the medical staff and the public for their prayers and support,” the statement read.
