The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Engineers Association (GhATSEA) has suspended its planned strike action that was set to begin today, October 30.

This follows what it described as “constructive engagement” with the governing board and management of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

In a statement signed by its President, David Annan Mensah, the association said the decision to call off the strike was reached after fruitful discussions that offered hope for a lasting resolution to their outstanding concerns.

“Following constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and management, we have decided to suspend our planned strike action, which was scheduled to take effect from 30th October 2025,” the statement said.

GhATSEA expressed appreciation to all parties involved in the negotiations and assured the public and aviation stakeholders of its continued dedication to maintaining high safety and professional standards in the delivery of air navigation services nationwide.

The group also commended the Acting Director-General of GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and the Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their demonstrated commitment to resolving the impasse.

GhATSEA further thanked the media and the general public for their patience and understanding during the period of tension, reaffirming its determination to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Ghana’s airspace.
