Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has called on members of the Ministerial Oversight Committee for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup participation to act with urgency, accountability, and national consciousness as the country ramps up preparations for the global tournament.Ghana travel guide Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the committee on Wednesday, November 26, Debrah stressed that the World Cup is not just about the 90 minutes on the pitch, but also about the four years leading up to the event and the four years that follow.
“Whatever we all need to do to make Ghana proud, let us do our utmost. The road to 2026 begins now. This Oversight Committee must lead with accountability, speed, and national consciousness. The time for scattered effort is over. We cannot enter 2026 with the mindset of 2010 or 2014. Let us correct what must be corrected, amplify what can be built, lead with clarity, and act with urgency,” he said.
Debrah urged the committee to project Ghana with discipline and pride, emphasising that the nation’s preparation and participation must reflect organised planning and strategic focus.
The Ministerial Oversight Committee is composed of officials and key stakeholders, including:

7. GFA. Kurt Okraku (Chairman)
8. Deputy National Security Coordinator- Elizabeth Yankah
9. Former Footballer- Abedi Pele
10. Sports Ministry- Wilhelmina Asamoah (Chief Director)
