Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, General Overseer of Spirit Life Revival Ministries, has reassured his congregation of his continued commitment to his calling, despite announcing a temporary break from preaching following the failure of his prophetic declaration on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries.
Speaking to worshippers during a church service on Sunday, February 1, Prophet Elbernard said he could not control how individuals responded to recent events but stressed that he had not abandoned his ministry.
“I can’t influence and determine how you respond and react, but I want you to understand that I’m still here. I am not going to ask you to stay here, neither am I asking you to leave,” he told the congregation, explaining that his actions were guided by humility and responsibility. “But I will be back.”
The prophet said he felt it was important to openly address the issues surrounding the unfulfilled prophecy before the service ended. He anchored his remarks on his book School of Prophecy, particularly Chapter 16 titled “When a Prophet Misses It”, which he said outlines the appropriate response when a prophetic word does not come to pass.
According to him, the book was written several years ago and released in 2025, and it clearly sets out principles of accountability and integrity in ministry.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun said he does not seek encouragement from church members in moments such as this, but rather accountability.
Prophet Elbernard had earlier issued a public apology in a statement shared on his Facebook page after his prophecy on the outcome of the NPP presidential primaries, held on January 31, 2026, failed to materialise.
Ahead of the polls, he had predicted that former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, would win the contest, claiming the outcome had been revealed to him by an angel of God.
In one of his pronouncements, he told Mr. Agyapong that the number he picked during balloting would be his final position after the election.
However, the former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner of the NPP presidential primaries to become the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
