The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended the deadline for applications for the Black Stars head coach job to October 15, 2026, to attract more candidates.
The decision follows a recommendation by the Black Stars Coach Search Committee, which has proposed a broader recruitment process to identify a coach who fits Ghana’s long-term football ambitions.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 9, in consultation with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the GFA said the evaluation, shortlisting and interviewing of candidates will continue through October and November, with the committee expected to submit its final recommendation after the process.
The expanded search will include background checks, consultations with football stakeholders and technical experts, and assessments of candidates’ technical abilities, leadership qualities and capacity
